Our cottage is very comfortable for up to 4 adults and 2 children.  It is located in the peaceful setting in the small south Vendee hamlet. A rustic cottage fully restored to its original appearance, with exposed local stone walls, wooden beams and wooden floors, tiled ground floor. It is furnished with antique French country style furniture. It is comfortable and done with good taste.

The cottage is situated in the quiet and hilly village of Saint Michel le Cloucq, above Fontenay le Comte, in a peaceful street. The village is on the edge of the forest with many places for walking and cycling. Only 50 km from the renowned sailing part and beautiful city of La Rochelle and the beaches of the Atlantic.

The islands of Ré, Aix or Oléron are just off the coast. Few kilometers away there is Le Marais Poitevin, also known as the Green Venice, with its green canals for idyllic boating and fishing. The river Vendee ideal for fishing is less than 5 km away. Approx an hour away is Futuroscope, the science and technology theme park near Poitiers The Puy du Fou historic theme park with its day attractions, the summer evening concerts and displays is within 60 km.

Master Room: Double bed with en-suite.

2nd Bedroom: 1 double bed.

Mezzanin Bedroom: 2 single beds (for two children only).

Bathroom(s):
Bathroom with bath, washbasin and cupboards and a separate WC. Showeroom with shower, washbasin and WC. Towels provided.

Living Room:
A large living room with antique country furniture and has been restored in keeping with the original style with exposed stone walls and tiled and  floors. A stone fireplace, television and video recorder, DVD player, hi-fi and telephone and free wifi access.

Kitchen:
Fully fitted kitchen with all modern facilities, well equipped with crockery, cutlery and plenty of utensils, kettle, dishwasher, ceramic hob, microwave oven, full oven, fridge/freezer and washing machine.

Other:
To enhance comfort for a restful and enjoyable stay, there are a 500 square meters private garden, a stone patio with garden furniture, a large outdoor roofed dining area with rustic furniture and a purpose built chimney-barbecue. 2 mountain bicycles for adults and 3 for children are available free of charge.

Cleaning/towels/linen/maid service:
Prices include normal electricity expenses, water, towels, house linen and bed linen.

Beach:
The beach is 60 km away.

Further Details:
Our nearest large town is Fontenay Le Comte which is a 5 minute drive away, and used to be the capital of the Vendee. Within an hours drive of our cottage are the sandy beaches of the Vendée, including La Rochelle, Ile de Ré, Les Sables d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer. If you want a change of pace then the tranquil setting of the Marais Poitevin, with its Venise Verte waterways are just 20 minutes away.

For kids of all ages the Futuroscope theme park is an hour away near Poitiers, and for the adults the famous Cognac houses are within easy reach for tours and tastings.
